Dear CORESTA colleagues

The CORESTA Joint Meeting of the Smoke Science & Product Technology Study Groups this year will take place from 8 – 12 October in Kitzbühel, Austria at the K3 Conference Centre.

Below you can find some information to support you with your preparations for your flights, accommodation and pre-meetings, but also some information about the accompanying persons' programme and social events.

We hope to see you in October in Kitzbühel and wish you all the success in preparing for this conference.

The Organising Committee.

Flights

The main airports to fly to are Munich (Germany), Frankfurt (Germany) and Vienna (Austria). All major airlines fly to each of these three cities. From Frankfurt and Vienna connecting flights are available to the Austrian cities Innsbruck or Salzburg.

From Munich, Innsbruck and Salzburg you can go either by train or taxi to Kitzbühel. Detailed information about these connections and prices are available on the website page Destination Info.

Conference

The conference venue (K3 Conference Centre) is located in the center of Kitzbühel and is 3 to 9  walking minutes away from the hotels. Presentations will be held in the Palladium hall of the conference center and for the poster session a large area has been designated. Coffee breaks and lunches will be provided at the conference center. K3 Conference Centre has also several terraces where you can enjoy your smoking. Detailed information is available on the website page Venue.

Hotels

We have blocked rooms at 4 hotels in Kitzbühel. All the hotels are in walking distance from the K3 Conference Centre. The hotels are Hotel Rasmushof, Hotel Tenne, Hotel Kitzhof and Hotel Kaiserhof. For each hotel we obtained prices which include the room, breakfast, Wi-Fi and wellness. Via links you can access the websites of the hotels for making your reservation directly. Sub-Group and Task Force Meetings

It has been decided by the Scientific Commission and the Board that a SGTF meeting should take half a day and meeting rooms are blocked at the K3 Conference Centre for Saturday and Sunday. To accommodate the attendees, we agreed on fixed costs. Via the registration page you can register for a SGTF meeting. Please note that all SGTF participants will get an e-mail with a code for registration from their Sub-Group and Task Force secretaries. For hotel reservations we were able to block rooms for Friday and Saturday night at 3 hotels, Hotel Rasmushof, Hotel Kitzhof and Hotel Kaiserhof. Detailed information is available on the website page Registration.

Accompanying Persons programme

For friends and spouses we will organize an accompanying programme for Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. This programme is a diversified mixture of culture, tradition, nature, artisanery and fashion. It will take you to the historic city center and impressive ski jump of Innsbruck and  to the medieval castle of Kufstein. You will visit a traditional glass artisanry and the world famous Swarovski Kristallwelten. Last but not least you will enjoy the charming town and surroundings of Kitzbühel such as the stunning mountain view and tasty lunch at one of Austria’s most famous mountain chalets. The excursions give you a wonderful insight to the beauty of Tyrol. Of course lunches are included and will be a culinary highlight during your sightseeing. Social events

In the good spirit of CORESTA and creating a great opportunity for networking whilst also enjoying some nice food and drinks we organized three social events. You are warmly invited to join the welcome reception on Sunday night at the stylish hotel Tenne. On Wednesday afternoon we will take you up the mountain to enjoy a networking afternoon, with a breathtaking view over the mountains and Kitzbühel. Delicious food and refreshments will be provided as networking can make one hungry and thirsty. The Tyrolean night will be on Thursday evening at Hotel Rasmushof. It will be an authentic Tyrolean evening with great food and entertainment and will allow you to celebrate the success of the conference and turn back into the relax mode, after days of hard work, before heading home. Detailed information is available on the website page Social events.
